Rules update 1630 - 11 (Early Storm)

  • Being a member of a tribe hostile to the tribe of an NPC gives an automatic -1 on any interaction.
  • Endurance recovery is now per turn, not per week.
  • "Current lover" will be renamed "Last seen with", meaning names will only appear here if the couple has been seen in public. The same goes for the Greasy Pole.

It makes sense that a member of a hostile tribe will be less receptive: but is there any way to tell what tribe/cult an NPC belongs to (other than the members of the KIng's court)?

Can we look at CP's from visiting temples? They seem far too high compared with cp's from having parties (which is probably why no-one has held a party recently). Perhaps a limit of 1 toadying to leader of the cult ceremony per month?

If an NPCs tribal affiliation isn't obvious there's no modifier. But I will try to add tribal info to the NPCs.

It's a bit of a wormhole though.

The rules on cause for challenge read "Insulting a regimental, tribal, or cult friend of a character." Does this mean that a directly insulting a character does not give cause for challenge? So Broar's insults to Erik would allow Afur and Julian cause to challenge as regimental colleagues but not Erik himself? As written the rules seem strange.

What?! No-one is insulting anyone! Broar has nothing but the best intentions for Erik, trying to save him from 'the voices' etc, so this can hardly be construed as an insult and, therefore, no need for any 'confusion' in the rules.

You're right. I'll edit the rules to make it explicit that being insulted gives cause for duel.

Oh no....the voices have got to our GM too!
