An open letter to Broar

An open letter to Broar,

Well shame on you. Enteth came across Eslana in Fantarn's this morning and Eslana was very upset indeed. And it's not just because she has broken up with Erinestra, although that has certainly dented her confidence. No, Broar, you are to blame. All this talk of there being no Malani in Boldhome. She said it's as if she doesn't even exist. And now you're threatening to leave the clan and desert the ancestors. She feels very let down. Anyway, if you could perhaps find it in your heart to have a chat to her and straighten things out. Perhaps even apologise, but certainly comfort her at this trying time. She is your cousin after all. Perhaps you could gift her with one of the new Chalana Arroy statuettes or something. I'm sure that would be appreciated.

My dear Ondureen,

But Broar has renounced the Malani and now declared himself to be of the tribe of Broar, who are hostile to his old tribe. On the other hand, seeing him might cheer her up a little, most of us smile at clowns.

Eslana....Eslana....who, by the blessed bushy beard of Lankhor Mhy, is she? I know of no such individual and if, as you say, she has some link to that dross tribe the Malani I have no sympathy with her, I'm afraid to say. Did you know that these Malani types are absolute losers? Whoever heads the tribe regularly fails to notice that the only prominent (now Ex) Malani tribe member in Boldhome is (was) me and - yet - when I applied nigh on half a dozen times to be an Aide to one of the Chieftains the ignorant so and so's ignored me!! Me, Broar Broarson (nee Hofarson) a God, a legend, the joint best duelist in Boldhome! Well, I gave them plenty of chances but they wasted them all so good riddance to the lot of them.

As for this Eslana woman you talk of, if she's any sense she'll do the same and come over to join Tribe Broar.

Erik,

Please, please my dear friend allow me to administer treatment to you. I'm soon to become your regimental colleague, a comrade in arms (except I'll be carrying the bandages and healing you all) so it doesn't look good on you to keep up this pointless campaign of adversity towards me does it? I'm also a fellow Lightbringer and friendly cult member, look I know it's not really your fault, it's the voices in your head but I can help you there, make things all better for you if only you'd just let me.

Can I just say you're like a brother to me Erik, I care about you and only want what's best for you. Sadly, as it stands, I can't see much of a future for you unless this matter of your madness is resolved. I'll tell you what, why don't you come along to my Inn, the prestigious Scribbled Scroll sometime this month so we can share a few ales together, lighten the atmosphere a little, and then when you're feeling relaxed I can walk you across to the Chalana Arroy Temple - a fellow Lightbringer, remember - and conduct the exorcism to remove the voices (clearly chaos induced) to make you normal again. I won't even charge you for my services, after all who would charge their own brother to heal them. Of course, if you did feel the need to proffer a donation to Chalana Arroy I won't stop you and will ensure it goes directly into the cult's coffers, for these sorts of services there is no actual set 'fee' but previous beneficiaries have given...one moment, let me just recall....ah, yes....around 50 lunars but they also get a statuette of the Blessed Mother thrown in as part of the price so 50+ lunars would be totally acceptable.

As a small footnote may I just add - perhaps to cover any legal aspects - the ceremony to cure you may involve....simply to mention...not for definte, but just to make you aware, as I wish to cover all bases, so to speak.....a small amount of discomfort BUT, as I once heard my Chalana Arroy Priest say, "There is no gain without pain". Now, don't panic here as the emphasis was on 'may' and even if that did prove to be the case such, I'm sure, would be minimal. Rest assured I'll be doing my best to minimise any such issues, although can I just check here you can touch your toes ok, no problem with bending and suchlike....excellent I didn't think there would be so that will help considerably!
