City Ring member / attendance clarity

Post by Torben »

My Lord Erik,

Can you please just clarify / confirm the situation regarding your membership / my volunteered attendance at City Ring meetings during the Summer Campaign period.

Word around Boldhome* is that you have resigned your position as a City Ring member, is this correct AND, if so, does that mean I cannot or am not needed to deputise for you? If I am still needed to act as your deputy do I need to attend every City Ring meeting, as I note for some Seasons there are two weekly meetings.

Loyal regards,

Torben

*OOC - It says in the last turn results / write up : Lord Erik attended the city ring assembly, where he announced his resignation from the ring in order to commit fully to the summer war campaign.

My dear Drighten Torben,

My resignation from the City Ring will date from the start of Early Fire. You will retain your position as Aide to City Ring member, however, if you act as my assistant during Fire Season you will need to remain in Boldhome, which will mean you will need to resign from the Snakepipe Dancers. My resignation from the City Ring will not affect my role as liaison for the Road building project as long as my assistant attends at least one Ring Assembly meeting per month (if one is scheduled).

I thank you again for your assistance in this matter.

Your friend,

Erik Stargazer

(OOC: I asked about how my resigning from the City Ring would affect my role as liaison and got this reply:
To remain the liaison for the road project Erik would need to have an assistant present at at least one city ring assembly per turn (when there is one).

Erik has an aide, financed by the city: Torben. Unfortunately his regiment is also ordered to the front during the summer.

Erik could assign another PC (who needs to have CHA 10+ and be at least a lay member of Issaries or Lhankor Mhy) as his deputy. If this PC attends one ring assembly each turn when Erik doesn't, Erik can remain the liaison. This arrangement would be between the characters and not bound by any rules (except that any breach of a public agreement might have various effects).

You might want to message Puckohue yourself to check on details of this role)
