As Late Storm season approaches, Quatlu wishes to take his beloved Darra home so that he can meet her wealthy parents and gain their approval as a potential son-in-law. With this in mind, he wishes to take them a gift that will show his good taste yet impress them. So he and Darra will go shopping for that perfect gift among the shops in Boldhome, as she is the expert in what her parents would like. His first stop is at Grumbold's Silk and Sapphires, as the man is his regimental Lt. Warlord and a friend. He will seek out Grumbold himself, to explain the need for a suitable gift and ask for his suggestions. His budget is up to 135 Lunars, as he wants to help make sure he is welcomed and accepted. He had a thought that perhaps a gold wine ewer with matching wine glasses might be a good gift, But he is keeping an open mind and wishes to see what Grumbold might propose.

My dear commander,

Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to furnish you with a magnificent gift for your future father and mother in law. Your suggestion is an inspired one, and I offer a sketch of the kind of thing that might be seen as fashionable and a touch exotic. I understand it is a style popularised among the nobles of the distant Tibe'tan tribes. It is a beautifully worked silver-gilt wine ewer inlaid with gemstones with accompanying cups and tray. Additional cups and appropriate stones can be set into the ewer and tray to accommodate your desired price.

Quatlu discusses his ideas with Grumbold and likes the idea of a fine wine ewer set. He decides on a finely-wrought and decorated, solid silver wine ewer with 12 matching silver wine glasses on a matching tray for the family, a small alabaster vial of very fine perfume for her mother (Darra knows her mother’s taste), and a finely made jeweled dagger with engraved silver sheath for her father. He asks Grumbold to please wrap these gifts up carefully as he is going to transport them some distance before presenting them to Darra's family. He pays Grumbold 135 Lunars for the gifts and is quite satisfied with the purchase.
