1630 - 11 (Early Storm) - Turn Report

Post by Puckohue »

The Season of the Air Gods descended with the chilling monsoon of Storm Season, bringing forth tempestuous thunderstorms and capricious, violent weather that danced unpredictably across the lands.

Amidst these atmospheric shifts, Orlkastar made the resolute choice to journey back to the ancestral homelands of the Sambari tribe, seeking solace or perhaps new adventures in familiar territory.

Meanwhile, the ever-present dealings of the moneylenders continued their relentless cycle. Broar engaged in financial transactions, acquiring a fresh loan while settling an old debt. Warrior Rhosyn, too, sought financial aid from these lenders, while Warrior Julian extended a generous sum as a loan to Ten-thane Quatlu. Even Hundred-thane Rufus, amidst the chaos of the front lines, managed to send funds to settle a pressing debt.

In the intricate dance of persuasion and influence, Ten-thane Erik skillfully wielded his connections, persuading a God-talker devoted to Orlanth to step down. Ten-thane Ondureen attempted a similar feat regarding a Babeester Gor God-talker but faced insurmountable resistance. Broar also made efforts to sway a God-talker of Lhankor Mhy, yet met a similar impasse.

Amidst these intrigues, Julian and Rhosyn made investments in their military careers. Julian secured the rank of Subaltern within the Colymar Cavalry, while Rhosyn followed suit in the Snakepipe Dancers. Additionally, Rhosyn expanded his assets by acquiring a horse and hiring a groom.

Guiding the upcoming summer campaign with strategic vision, City Warmaster Orstalor Spearlord laid out the framework for the organization and mobilization of forces.

Rhosyn made efforts to persuade Warlord Alarella Doganinasdaughter of the Snakepipe Dancers to volunteer the regiment for front-line service, yet the Warlord's intentions lay elsewhere, diverting from Rhosyn's proposition.

Erik was promoted to God-talker within the Orlanth cult, a notable achievement unlike Quatlu's fate. Similarly, Erinestra secured the title of God-talker within the Issaries cult, marking a significant elevation in her spiritual journey.

A group comprising Afur, Quatlu, Ondureen, Julian, and Broar indulged in lavish extravagance, engaging in conspicuous consumption.

Ondureen established herself as a regular patron at The Scribbled Scroll, frequenting the establishment and becoming a familiar presence within its walls.

In the realm of appointments

City Administrator Leika, known as "the Mayor," reinstated Insterda Jarlvasdaughter of the Balmyr tribe as Deputy of Public Harmony, reinforcing stability in civic administration.

City Lawspeaker Tosti Runefriend appointed Erik Stargazer as his trusted aide, while City Treasurer Goldgotti entrusted Garrai Silalarlson of the Bachad tribe with the role of his aide.

The City Ring Members solidified their associations by appointing their respective aides. However, Rhosyn missed out on being appointed Aide to a Drighten, as did Ondureen to an Eorl, and Broar to a Colymar (!) Chieftain. Yet, Johannes received the honor of being appointed Aide to the Clan Chieftain Gaist Arathson of the Balmyr tribe, signifying recognition for his service and loyalty.

Week 1

Erik secured a position in Mularik’s Company, purchasing the rank of Ten-thane. Assigned to Battalion 3 under the command of Hundred-thane Rufus stationed at the front lines near Runegate, Erik swiftly embarked on this mission. In contrast, Ondureen faced rejection in her attempts to join both the Royal Foot Guards and the Eaglebrown Warlocks.

Julian managed to find a moment to refine his broadsword skills at the Colymar stables. Meanwhile, Warrior Nala honed her prowess with the same weapon at the Wolf Runners barracks.

Rhosyn made an appearance at The Red Beaver accompanied by Silast, engaging in whatever diversions the place had to offer.

In matters of religious observance:

Afur participated in a solemn ceremony at the temple of Ernalda, displaying ostentatious reverence and deference to the High Priestess. Broar, on the other hand, engaged in a ceremony at the Lhankor Mhy library, showcasing his respect and toadying to the esteemed Chief Librarian. Erinestra, accompanied by Arng, visited the temple of Issaries where they encountered Grumbold. Together, they all partook in the ceremony, displaying their deference to the High Priest in unison.

Stopping the Undead

Delecti the Necromancer unleashed his nightmarish undead from the eerie Upland March, unleashing them upon Sartarite villages near Runegate, threatening chaos and terror. The Kheldon tribal levy, with an attached battalion from Mularik's Company under the command of Hundred-thane Rufus, received orders to besiege a village overrun by these relentless animated corpses, striving to halt their menacing advance.

The confrontation resulted in an uncertain resolution, with the outcome remaining indecisive. However, amidst the chaos, Rufus's valor and leadership were immortalized in battlesongs, commemorating his role in the conflict. Similarly, Erik found himself inadvertently stumbling upon a precious relic dating back to the era of the EWF, likely dropped by one of the reanimated corpses. Erik's unexpected discovery also earned him a mention in the tales of valor sung by bards, adding to his reputation and legacy.
